Winter Skin Care Guide

Our sun-kissed facade has long faded and it’ll take some time until we’ll
see some decent sun again. After weeks and weeks of cold and wind
and central heating, our skin is most likely stressed and shows signs of
serious dryness of all kinds. But not necessarily. We can actively do
something against dull, lifeless-looking and super dry skin. But we’re not
only on a mission to combat dryness and keep hydrated, we also want to
maintain a healthy glow, right?! We have your back ladies. We’ve not
only searched to find the greatest items to maintain a healthy
glow, we’ve also gathered the best cold weather moisturizers to keep
your skin happily hydrated – from the inside and the outside.

For this winter-countdown, you should pay your skin some extra
attention. It’ll thank you with a young, well-hydrated and healthy glow!
When the cold period starts, in late fall or early winter, we are super
motivated to take well care of our skin. But being honest, after a while
and with the hustle and bustle of the holidays, we’re getting a bit lazy,
right?! Now, with the new year in full swing, it’s time to get back into the
game. Seriously.
Your face moisturizers should be thickening up to protect and quench
your skin against the rough elements. And, this is super important, just
because it’s winter, it doesn’t mean you should put away your sunscreen.
While there is less UVB around in the winter, levels of UVA (or UV-
ageing as it is known in the dermatology world) are still significant
enough to age your skin. Choose a sunscreen with a high UVA rating all
the year round if you want to protect your skin from its ageing effects.
And who doesn’t want to?? Right!
To support your stressed skin during the winter month, make sure you
keep hydrated during the day. Swap your coffee (every now and then) for
green tea (oh so healthy!) which has great anti-oxidant effects. Cheers!

Well, and for the outside? The Renee Rouleau Glow Enhancing crème
does some magic. It not just moisturizes your dry skin and repairs the

skin’s moisture barrier, it also gives your skin an instant glow. Say good-
bye to dull and lackluster dry skin. Get the instant glow here.

And even for those of you with oily skin – adding more hydration during
the winter month is non-negotiable. Look for a light, oil-free lotion with
sunscreen to protect against cold and wind.
Let’s talk cleanser. As a rule of thumb if your skin feels tight after
washing it is likely that the cleanser you are using has disrupted your
skin barrier. You skin should feel calm and hydrated after washing, if
your skin asking for hydration instantly, you may want to consider a
gentler cleanser. The Micellar Cleansing Water could be your new BFF.
It simultaneously hydrates (without oil) as it rids your face of any grimy
residue. Get it here.

Baths are a gift to dry winter skin. You can not only relax and calm down,
baths are also a marvelous opportunity to hydrate skin. For a treat, you
may want to try the REN Clean Skincare Bath Oil. This calming bath oil
nourishes the skin and leaves is lightly fragranced with roses. Perfect for
a peaceful, relaxing bath when it’s cold outside.

Ladies, don’t forget your hands! Hands are very high risk for becoming
chapped and sore in the winter month! At night apply a rich layer of hand
cream under cotton cloves for best protection. Only after a few nights,
the skin barrier will start to heal and you can see the difference! We love
the Jo Malone London Body & Hand Lotion.
